Melissa Shrestha
Public Relations & Community Outreach
Melissa Shrestha’s journey has taken her across continents, cultures, and classrooms. She holds an MSc in Regional and Rural Development Planning from Thailand and a Postgraduate in Public Relations from Canada. Her career has woven together international travel, academic achievement, and heartfelt service, working on social research projects for City of Calgary, Coded Minds Canada, Adventurers SAC Ltd., International IDEA, UNICEF Nepal, US-AID, focusing on vulnerable communities and children’s from across the world.
But Melissa’s true inspiration came not just from boardrooms and research papers, it came from trekking through the untamed corners of Nepal. Walking ancient trails, crossing high passes, and sitting with families in villages far removed from the modern world, she discovered the purest form of connection: people sharing what little they had with open hearts. She realized that travel wasn’t just a hobby, it was a doorway to understanding the truth of the world.
Today, while based in Canada, Melissa works as a STEM educator, sparking curiosity and creativity in young minds. Parallel to her teaching, she pours her energy into Zen Zone Nepal, shaping its digital presence, curating its stories, and ensuring its vision reaches hearts across the globe. Her mission is to invite travellers to experience the same awe she felt in Nepal—to see beauty not only in the landscapes but in the resilience, generosity, and wisdom of its people.
For Melissa, every Zen Zone journey is more than a holiday, it’s a chance for traveler to return home changed: lighter, more connected, and deeply aware that the world’s greatest treasures aren’t bought, they’re lived.
